Peter Runyon Peter Runyon. Peter Runyon - a long-time local. Peter Runyon has called Eagle County home for thirty-eight years. He moved to Vail in 1970 and worked for Vail Associates for ten years as a photographer. He now owns a postcard company, Runyon Postcards, Inc., and a souvenir company, Mountain Sights, Inc. Both companies do business throughout Colorado and are managed by Peter's wife, Beth. Peter has been an Eagle County Commissioner since 2004.

Peter's Accomplishments.
  • Led the effort to find a better balance between environmental protection, preservation of our community's quality of life, and growth,
  • Led a Blue Ribbon Housing Panel that resulted in countywide cooperation on housing solutions,
  • Launched a transportation collaborative, am vice-chair of the I-70 coalition, and was ablle to put Eagle County at the head of the line for CDOT funding,
  • Led the effort to protect our environment through wise energy policies - a switch to wind power, use of hybrids, and now the largest solar system on the western slope,
  • Participated in an historic settlement that stopped Denver Water Board from taking Eagle County's water,
  • Led the county effort to protect our forests, working with our congressional delegation, and
  • Led the effort to build a collaborative working climate within the county's administration and between county governments.
